A tiny kimono crocheted by my daughter for a family with a preemie or experiencing early loss

Our family recently experienced the loss of two precious babies-Natalie Grace, born still on July 29, 2014 and Lilo (an early miscarriage) in November.  My daughter, the mother of these two little souls, has responded by searching for ways to support other families who have experienced similar situations.  She taught herself how to crochet and has been making tiny hats for preemies and early loss babies.  More recently, she began making tiny kimonos for them.

March of Dimes plays a big part in supporting families experiencing early loss and strives to find ways to make certain moms have healthy pregnancies and that babies are born full-term and healthy. These situations touch the lives of many families, and sadly ours is now included in that group.  So we are walking and raising awareness to help in still another way.  Our team is Natalilo and we would like to invite you to join us, by walking or donating.

Every day, thousands of babies are born too soon, too small and often very sick. I’m walking in March for Babies because I want to do something about this. And I need your help. I walked many times around my block as a young Girl Scout, collecting donations for this very organization, never dreaming that our family would experience what so many others have gone through.  It can be devastating –but we want something good to come from the pain of loss.  So, please support my walk. Making a secure donation is easy: just click the ‘donate now’ button on the linked page here. Thank you for helping me give all babies a healthy start.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Your gift will support March of Dimes research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And it will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.
