Good Friday morning!! I hope you all are well!

I wanted to share a quick story this morning, hopefully as a little inspiration! The young lady in the photo is my MIL. She recently celebrated her 94th birthday! I want to tell you a bit about her because she is a great example of what a healthy lifestyle can do for us! I am going to run through a few facts about her:

She is still physically healthy, although she has had her fair share of health issues like heart arrhythmia, stage 4 esophageal hernia, osteoporosis (but has build up bone density instead of continuing to lose it).

She is still mentally healthy, insisting on balancing her check book each month.

She is spiritually healthy, reads her Bible every day, despite losing sight in one eye and having to endure injections IN the other eye every 8 weeks to keep it healthy.

She has always been nutritionally healthy and spent most of her life eating whole foods, first from her own garden and now on a limited scale, due to the hernia. She demonstrates self control as she eats mindfully, consistently and limits her snacks – although she has been known to have ‘a bit of dark chocolate every day’ and a glass of wine on occasion. 😉

She is emotionally healthy despite losing a son to drowning when he was 10, losing her husband at 70, and losing a daughter a few years ago to a stroke.

She has always loved being part of a community, her favorite being her church family and she still attends services on Sundays.

Obviously, like us all, she has endured MANY other trials in her life….and if you came for a visit, she would tell you all about them and the good lessons she learned and the blessings God has provided through them! 😉

I am sharing all of this because she is an example of what we all strive for, right? A long life, lived well, lived fully, and lived in a way that is mindful of the blessings God provides through trials and triumphs. A life that is full of mindful eating, discipline, self – care and self – respect. A life that focuses on staying well, fighting disease and illness, and is lived with purpose!

So, whether you are in a peak or a valley right now in this health journey you are on, please know you are not alone! WE have ALL either been there (many times) or we are currently there with you! Hang in there, just do your best and take each step that will take you in the direction you want to go, knowing I am here to lean on and link arms with as we do this TOGETHER! Here is to 94 years of wellness and blessings! Let’s DO THIS!! ❤ coach Suzy
